College of Science Advisory Board

The Science Advisory Board is an independent organization providing support and assistance to the College of Science at Texas State University.  The board is composed of individuals who are respected for their accomplishments within the various fields of science. The mission of the board is to provide assistance to the College and faculty in order to enhance the quality, outreach and development of the college.  In carrying out this mission the Board and its members will:

• Identify, contact and cultivate potential financial supporters for scholarships and research support, assisting the Dean and the Director of Development in obtaining both large and small gifts from individuals and foundations;
• Identify, contact, and cultivate business, industry, and government organizations that may collaborate with, support, and enhance research activities in the College;
• Develop activities that enhance the visibility and awareness of the College and its research activities throughout our service community and beyond and assist in the development of the College’s public image, brand, and message.

Members are appointed by the Dean of the College upon the recommendation of the Advisory Board Membership Committee.
