Hector Flores was named Dean of the College of Science in 2005, providing leadership and management of the College – its students, faculty, staff, administrators, and programs. Dean Flores studied biology at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Lima, Peru (B.S. 1973) and horticulture at the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez (MS 1977) before earning his M.Phil. (1981) and Ph.D. (1983) in biology from Yale University. more

Dr. Garcia provides leadership on issues associated with research and scholarship in the College, including working with faculty to develop grant writing skills and strategies, identifying potential opportunities and funding sources for research, facilitating interactions with the Office of Sponsored Programs, developing strategies for maintaining services contracts on equipment as well as a plan for obsolescence, and identifying potential members of research teams. more

Dr. Habingreither works with new degree proposals and student-related issues. In addition, he works closely with the college advising center and assists Dean Flores with any aspects of college operations that are associated with academic matters in the college, some of which include fund raising, recruitment, graduate follow-up and strategic planning.
