College of Science Partners in Academic Student Success (PASS) Program
If you are a major in the College of Science and on probation, you are required to participate in our “Partners in Academic Student Success” (PASS) program. PASS is a non-punitive program designed to help our students achieve academic success. You are required to meet with your advisor to implement a mutually agreeable contract. Your PASS contract will list actions you agree to perform to help you get off probation.
PASS provides a community network for probationary students. This community network consists of student and academic services offices collaborating to provide workshops and presentations throughout the semester that address many of the issues and challenges confronting probation students. Presentations include topics on study skills, time management, adjustment and personal challenges, stress management, career decisions, and financial aid among others.
PASS partners offering these workshops include:
The Counseling Center
Financial Aid
Student Learning Assistance Center
Career Services
Campus Activities and Student Organizations
Student Health Center
Office of Disability Services
Collaborative Learning Center
University Mentoring Program
If you are on probation, you have a hold on your account that will prevent you from registering for classes. For general questions, please contact your advisor at scienceadvising@txstate.edu. To schedule an appointment, you need to call the Science Advising Center at 512-245-1315.
