You also have the option to test out of CIS 1323. This will be through the McCoy College of Business. The following is information from the McCoy College of Business:
The CIS 1323 Exam is given in software called Myitlab. Myitlab is a scenarios or performance based testing program. Myitlab will evaluate your software skills in EXCEL 2007, POWER POINT 2007 and ACCESS 2007 while you work on an application. It will ask you to perform various tasks (such as underlining a word, entering a formula in Excel, changing the size object in Power Point or Creating report in ACCESS) and it will monitor the steps you take to complete each task. It allows you to use any method (i.e., toolbars, menus, right-click, etc.) allowed by the application to complete the task.
- This is an approximately two and half hour test and your progress through the examination is timed. Therefore, you should not take a break once you start the test. If you choose to take a break, you will lose valuable time since there is no way to stop the testing clock once it starts.
- This is a closed book and closed notes examination. You may not use any supplementary material or any other help to assist you in this examination.
- Please go to the Testing Center (lower level of Commons Hall) to pay the fee. Tests are administered at McCoy College of Business in Room 336.
- Check with Dr. Vivek Shah (McCoy 457 -- vshah@txstate.edu - 245-2049) or Prof. Jim Keefe (McCoy 413 -- jk07@txstate.edu) regarding when the test will be administered. In recent history, the test was administered on Wednesday's at 3:30 pm in San Marcos, and Monday's at 3:30 pm in Round Rock.
