A. B. AND IRENE ROGERS AQUATIC BIOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was established to honor the memory of A. B. and Irene S. Rogers and provide financial assistance to students pursuing a degree in the Aquatic Biology Program.

- Awards will be made to full-time upper-level undergraduate students (juniors and seniors) at Texas State University having completed at least 60 hours of study
- Students must be pursuing a degree within the Aquatic Biology program at Texas State University
- Students must have a GPA of at least 3.0

CHUCK NASH AQUATIC STUDIES SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was established in honor of Chuck Nash, San Marcos businessman and member of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Board of Directors for many years, and to provide financial support for students pursuing aquatic and hydrological studies at Texas State University.

- Annual Award is $1000, renewable

- Awards will be made to full-time junior, senior, or MS students at Texas State University.
- Students must be pursuing studies in aquatics or hydrology.
- Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- Awards are based on ability and achievement rather than on financial need.

COLENE DRACE CELL BIOLOGY AWARD
This award was created in 2002 by Texas State graduate Colene Drace and recognizes exceptional research in cell biology by a Department of Biology graduate student.

General Information:
- Biology students in any sub-discipline are eligible as long as their work involves techniques of cell and molecular biology
- Current graduate students who completed a thesis-requiring Master's degree or Ph.D. degree in the Department of Biology during the current academic year
- Must have an approved thesis or dissertation proposal on file with the Graduate Dean
- Must not be on conditional status or academic probation
- Complete and submit online nomination form
- Prior to the deadline, the nominator must provide to the CDCBA committee:
- A cover letter that specifically addresses the criteria above and describes how the nominee clearly exceeds or exceeded minimal expectations of all graduate students
- One to three letters of support for the nominee, one of which should be from the nominee's mentor
- These materials should be prepared on appropriate letterhead or stationery
- All materials are to be submitted to Dr. Joseph R. Koke, Department of Biology (SUPP 440)
EBEN/ELLEGE AWARD
This award will be given to an outstanding biology graduate student; it is a full tuition scholarship for the 2008 academic year (fall and spring semester).

- All graduate students in thesis or dissertation requiring programs are eligible.
- The award will be based on merit, including demonstration of excellence and proven research potential (i.e. publications)
- Application should include a current CV, emphasizing scholarly accomplishments, two letters of reference/recommendation, and unofficial graduate transcripts

FRANCIS ROSE UNDERGRADUATE AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN BIOLOGICAL RESEARCH
This award was created in 2006 to honor Dr. Francis Rose, chair of the Department of Biology for 11 years. The purpose of this award is to provide research opportunities for undergraduates in the biological sciences during the academic year, especially for students whose financial need would make such work difficult on an unpaid basis. The goal of this program is to increase the number of undergraduate students doing research. All qualified undergraduates are encouraged to apply.

FRED AND YETTA RICHAN AQUATIC BIOLOGY AWARD
This award in given in honor of Fred and Yetta Richan and to support the activities of Texas State students engaged in research and management of streams, rivers, ponds, and reservoirs.
Award Amount:
- One (1) Aquatic Resources PhD student tuition fellowship
- One (1) Aquatic Biology MS student tuition fellowship
- Two (2) full-tuition scholarships worth approximately $5000 (FY2008)
- One award to a junior or senior Aquatic Biology undergraduate student
- One award of $1000

HOWARD D. SCHULZE ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP IN BIOLOGY
This is a tuition-credit scholarship awarded by the Department of Biology to a junior, senior, or graduate student in recognition of significant academic achievement. This scholarship was established by Christopher B. Schulze, M.D. in honor of his father.

- Scholarship applicants should be juniors, seniors or graduate students majoring in Biology, enrolled full-time at Texas State University, with an overall grade point average of at least 3.0
- Previous recipients may reapply for the scholarship; renewal will be based on evaluation of continued academic achievement
- To apply for the Schulze Scholarship, bring one letter of recommendation from a Texas State Biology professor and a current copy of your transcript to the Department of Biology office (SUPP 384, 512-245-2178)
RUSSELL AND RUTH STRANDTMANN FIELD BIOLOGY AWARD
This award is in honor of the late Dr. Russell W. Strandtmann and his wife, Ruth Strandtmann. They established a field biology development fund in their names for the purpose of supporting undergraduate research projects in the areas of whole organism taxonomy, systematics, life history studies, and ecology.

SALLY ANN KARNAU BIOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was established in honor of Sally Ann Karnau who earned her BA in Education and a Master's degree in Biology from Texas State in the early 1980s. She is also a former Biology instructor at Texas State.

- be financing at least 25% of his/her education

- Two page, double-spaced essay on what the student hopes to do with his/her degree in biology

W.E. (HENRY) NORRIS JR. SCHOLARSHIP FUND

CRADDOCK SCHOLARSHIP
Up to nine (9) scholarships are awarded annually to qualified students majoring in Chemistry, Physics, English, or History who are entering Texas State University’s Mitte Honors Program.

- Transfers and Texas State University students may apply if their overall GPA is 3.5 or above

KEY-PARKS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is awarded to chemistry majors who show the ability and potential for advanced study in chemistry.

LOIS ANN COFER MONZINGO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP IN CHEMISTRY
This scholarship is awarded to an entering freshman who is a declared chemistry major and will be a full-time student.

Department of Computer Science
All scholarship nominations and award recipients in the Department of Computer Science are determined by faculty selection. Students do not apply.
DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP
These scholarships were established in 1993 to recognize undergraduate and graduate computer science students achieving academic excellence in the department. Several $100-$200 scholarships are awarded annually to students selected by the department, based on student’s academic performance.
DON AND HELEN CUDE COMPUTER SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship fund was established in 1985 to honor Dr. Don Cude, alumnus and former mathematics professor and department chair at Texas State, and his wife, Helen Ebeling Cude, both of whom were public college teachers. Several $100-$200 scholarships are awarded annually to students selected by the department, based on student’s academic performance.
HAROLD SELLARS SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship was established in 1994 to honor the memory of Dr. Harold Sellars, former computer science professor at Texas State. One or more $100-$200 scholarships are awarded annually to students selected by the department, based on student’s academic performance.
Department of Mathematics
ROBERT AND BRITA NORTHCUTT AWARD
This award was established by Robert and Brita Northcutt in December, 1997. Dr. Northcutt has served in the mathematics department for over thirty years as a faculty member and former department chair.

JIM AND ELIZABETH CAMP SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student majoring in Physics, English, History, Political Science, or the Mitte Honors Program (as long as they have completed at least one Honors Program course) and who plans to receive a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University

- Applicants must have Junior/Senior standing (60 credit hours) and have a GPA of 3.3 or higher
- Recipients are expected to enroll for at least 14 credit hours each semester.
- Students must reapply for the scholarship every year and must remain a major in one of the four disciplines or be enrolled in the Honors Program.
- Applications are placed through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships via the General Scholarship Application
ROBERT E. AND FRAN ANDERSON SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is available to incoming freshman physics majors with an ACT/SAT 27/1150.

JOSEPH E. WINEK SCHOLARSHIP

- Amount of award to be determined on a yearly basis, depending upon interest accrual

General Information:
- Scholarship available to incoming Freshmen, and is renewable for up to four (4) years
- Must be majoring in Industrial Technology with a Construction concentration
- Must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA
- If GPA falls below 2.5, student has one (1) long semester to raise it to the required 3.0 or above, otherwise scholarship will be reassigned
